You can enable user reviews in comments. When a user adds a rating via the comments this contributes to the overall average user rating for that specific post. This means users can add ratings via the Add User Ratings element and the comments on the same post and they both contribute to the same average user rating.
To set up comment ratings do as follows:
Step 1: Go to Ultimate Reviewer > Settings > Comments and enable the Review Support option (this is enabled by default).
Step 2: You will see links under the Comments tab to control each aspect of the comment ratings.
Comment Form
This section allows you to do the following:
- Control who can leave comments and ratings
- Limit how many comments and ratings a user can leave
- Control the appearance of the ratings in the comment form
Comment List
This section allows you to do the following:
- Show a dropdown filter to change the order of comment
- Show a dropdown filter to only display ratings with a particular rating
Comment Summary
This section allows you to do the following:
- Show a summary at the top of the comments
- This includes the average user rating for this post
- This includes a breakdown of each rating e.g. the number of 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 star ratings
- You have the ability to enable rich snippets so the average user rating is displayed in Google search results
- Control the appearance of the summary
Comment Ratings
This section allows you to do the following:
- Control the appearance of the ratings with users comments
Comment Up/Down Voting
This section allows you to do the following:
- Enable the ability for users to up/down vote other user comments
- Control who can up/down vote user comments
- Control the appearance of the up/down voting buttons in user comments
