Creating Review Templates

Any post, page or custom post type can display a review. You can create unique review templates and then have all posts display this review template with it’s own review data.

To create your own review template do the following:

Step 1: Go to Ultimate Reviewer > Review Templates to create a new template.

Step 2: Give your review template a title.

For WPBakery Page Builder:

Step 3: Now click the Backend Editor button (if you don’t see this click here) to enable the WPBakery Page Builder editor.

For Elementor:

Step 3: Now click Edit with Elementor button (if you don’t see this click here) to enable the Elementor editor.

Site Ratings

A site rating is the rating for an individual post, page or custom post type.

Step 1: Add the Show Rating element to your review template.

Step 2: In the Show Rating settings you can control the maximum rating, appearance etc.

Step 3: If you want to add multiple site ratings e.g. different rating criterion in the Criteria text box, add a new criterion on a new line.

Step 4: Insert your review template into the desired posts in one of the following ways.

Step 5: You will now see the Review Settings panel on your post, page or custom post type.

Step 6: The criteria you have added in the Show Rating element will now be shown in the post, page or custom post type.

Average User Ratings

If your post, page, custom post type has user ratings you can display the average user rating.

Step 1: Add the Show Rating element to your review template.

Step 2: In the Show Rating settings you can control the maximum rating, appearance etc.

Step 3: Change the Data option to User Rating.

Step 4: Insert your review template into the desired posts in one of the following ways.

Add User Ratings

Users can add user ratings to any post, page or custom post type in three ways:

  1. Add user ratings via the Add User Ratings elements
  2. Add user ratings via the comment form
  3. Up/down vote via the Up/Down Voting element

We are going to cover 1 here.

Step 1: Add the Add User Rating element to your review template.

Step 2: In the Add User Ratings settings you can control the maximum rating, appearance etc.

Step 3: If you want to multiple user ratings e.g. different rating criterias in the Criteria text box, add each criterion on a new line. You can also weight each criterion by adding a value next to its name. For example, if you want a criterion to be worth double the other criterion add Criterion Name:2. If you want a criterion worth half the other criterion add Criterion Name:0.5.

Step 4: Insert your review template into the desired posts in one of the following ways.

Up/Down Voting

Users can up/down vote any post, page or custom post type.

Step 1: Add the Up/Down Voting element to your review template.

Step 2: In the Up/Down Voting settings settings you can control the appearance.

Step 3: Insert your review template into the desired posts in one of the following ways.

Good And Bad Points

You can display good and bad points in your review template.

Step 1: Add the Good Points and/or Bad Points element to your review template.

Step 2: In the Good Points Settings and/or Bad Points Settingssettings you can control the appearance.

Step 3: Insert your review template into the desired posts in one of the following ways.

Step 4: In the Review Settings panel scroll down to the Good Points and Bad Points options, where you create your points. These will be shown on any post, page or custom post type using this review template.

Summary

You can display a summary in your review template.

Step 1: Add the Summary element to your review template.

Step 2: In the Summary  settings you can control the appearance.

Step 3: Insert your review template into the desired posts in one of the following ways.

Step 4: In the Review Settings panel scroll down to the Summary option, where you can add your summary text. This will be shown on any post, page or custom post type using this review template.

Excerpt

You can display an excerpt in your review template.

Step 1: Add the Excerpt element to your review template.

Step 2: In the Excerpt settings you can control the appearance.

Step 3: Insert your review template into the desired posts in one of the following ways.

Step 4: In the Review Settings panel scroll down to the Excerpt option, where you can add your excerpt text. This will be shown on any post, page or custom post type using this review template.

Review Button

You can display a review button in your review template.

Step 1: Add the Review Button element to your review template.

Step 2: In the Review Button settings you can control the appearance.

Step 3: Insert your review template into the desired posts in one of the following ways.

Step 4: In the Review Settings panel scroll down to the Review Button option, where you can add your button link and button text. This will be shown on any post, page or custom post type using this review template.

Image

You can display images in your review template.

Step 1: Add the Image element to your review template.

Step 2: In the Image Settings settings you can control the appearance.

Step 3: To display the image as a background check the Image As Background checkbox.

Step 4: Insert your review template into the desired posts in one of the following ways.

Step 4: In the Review Settings panel scroll down to the Review Image options. You can add two review images and a standard feature image. The image shown will depend on what you select in the Image Source option. This will be shown on any post, page or custom post type using this review template.

Title

You can display the current post/page title in your review template.

Step 1: Add the Title element to your review template.

Step 2: In the Title Settings settings you can control the appearance.

Step 3: Insert your review template into the desired posts in one of the following ways.

Step 4: You will now see the post/page title shown on any post, page or custom post type using this review template.
